Samsung Galaxy phones come with a built-in feature called Secure Folder that allows users to store apps, photos, videos, and documents in a password-protected space. This is an excellent way to keep your sensitive apps and data hidden from prying eyes. Whether you’re trying to keep private apps or files secure, using Secure Folder is a great option to protect your privacy. Here’s a step-by-step guide to hiding apps on your Samsung phone with a password using Secure Folder.

Why Use Secure Folder to Hide Apps?

The Secure Folder feature on Samsung devices is designed to protect your personal data by creating a private, encrypted space. Apps, photos, videos, and documents stored in Secure Folder are isolated from the rest of your phone, making it difficult for unauthorized users to access them.

Here are some reasons why you might want to use Secure Folder:

  • Privacy Protection: It provides a safe space for apps and data that you don’t want others to access.
  • Organized Data: It helps you keep your private apps, photos, and files separate from your main phone data.
  • Password Protection: Secure Folder uses a password, PIN, or pattern, adding an extra layer of security for your hidden apps.

Step-by-Step Guide to Hide Apps Using Secure Folder

Follow these steps to hide apps under a password-protected roof on your Samsung Galaxy phone.

Step 1: Open Settings and Tap on “Security and Privacy”

Start by opening the Settings app on your Samsung phone. Scroll down and select Security and privacy to access your phone’s security features.

Step 2: Select “More Security Settings” and Tap on “Secure Folder”

Under Security and privacy, find and tap on More security settings. Then, choose Secure Folder from the options presented.

Step 3: Click “Continue”

A prompt will appear, asking you to continue. Tap Continue to proceed with creating your Secure Folder.

Step 4: Allow the Required Permissions

Tap Continue once again to grant the necessary permissions for Secure Folder to function correctly. These permissions allow the folder to be encrypted and protected with your password.

Step 5: Wait for the Secure Folder to Be Created

Samsung will begin creating your Secure Folder. This process may take a few moments, so wait until the setup is complete. Once the folder is ready, tap Done to move forward.

Step 6: Set a PIN, Password, or Pattern

Now, you’ll need to set a PIN, password, or pattern for your Secure Folder. This password will be used to access the hidden apps and files inside the folder, so choose something secure.

Step 7: Enter Your Secure Folder Password

After setting your PIN, password, or pattern, tap Next and re-enter the password to confirm it.

Step 8: Add Apps to Secure Folder

To add apps to Secure Folder, tap the “+” icon inside the folder. A list of apps installed on your phone will appear. Select the apps you want to hide, and then tap Add. Keep in mind that when you add apps to Secure Folder, their data isn’t copied over; you’ll need to log into those apps again.

Note: After adding the apps to Secure Folder, it’s recommended to uninstall them from the main screen to keep them fully hidden.

Make Secure Folder Even More Secure

While Secure Folder is already a secure way to hide apps, you can take additional steps to make it even harder for others to find your hidden apps.

Step 1: Go to Settings > Security and Privacy > More Security Settings

To hide the Secure Folder icon, go to Settings, tap Security and privacy, then select More security settings.

Step 2: Tap on Secure Folder

From here, tap on Secure Folder to open its settings.

Step 3: Disable the Toggle for “Add Secure Folder to Apps Screen”

Find the option labeled Add Secure Folder to Apps screen and disable it. This will remove the Secure Folder icon from the app drawer and make it harder for others to locate it.

Accessing Secure Folder

If you want to access your Secure Folder after hiding the icon, follow these simple steps:

  1. Swipe down the Quick Settings panel from the top of the screen.
  2. Find and tap the Secure Folder icon. If you don’t see it in the Quick Settings panel, tap the Edit button to add it.
  3. Once you tap the Secure Folder icon, the app drawer will show your hidden apps. Tap the icon again to make it disappear from the Quick Settings panel.

By following these steps, you can ensure that only you have access to the apps and files stored in your Secure Folder.
