The Nairobi Expressway is a modern and convenient way to travel across Nairobi, offering a faster and more efficient route for daily commuters and long-distance travelers. To make your experience smoother, the Expressway utilizes an Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) system, which allows for automatic toll deductions. To use this system, you’ll need to install an On-Board Unit (OBU) in your car. In this guide, we’ll show you exactly how to apply for and get the ETC installed in your vehicle, both online and physically.
Why Choose ETC for the Nairobi Expressway?
The Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) system is designed to save you time and money by eliminating the need to stop and pay toll fees manually. With an OBU device installed in your vehicle, toll payments are automatically deducted as you pass through the toll points. This method not only speeds up your travel but also helps reduce fuel consumption by avoiding the usual stop-and-go delays.
To use the Expressway, you have three options: cash payments, MTC (Manual Toll Collection) cards, and the ETC method. Of these, the ETC method is the fastest and most convenient way to go. Here’s how you can get your ETC.
