How to Opt Out via USSD
- *Dial 234# on your Safaricom line.
- From the main menu, select Fuliza M-PESA.
- Choose the Opt Out option. If it’s not visible, select More Options (98) to reveal it.
- Confirm your choice by selecting Yes when prompted.
- Wait for an SMS from Safaricom confirming successful deactivation of the Fuliza service.
- Once confirmed, restart your phone to refresh your M-Pesa services.
- Verify that your account can now only complete transactions within your available balance.
How to Opt Out via the M-Pesa App
- Open the M-Pesa App on your smartphone.
- Log in using your registered Safaricom number.
- Tap on the Fuliza M-PESA option under the main menu.
- Select Opt Out or Deactivate Fuliza.

After Opting Out of Fuliza

- Your Fuliza limit will be reset to zero, and if you decide to reactivate later, your limit will depend on your transaction history and repayment behavior.
- Opting out does not affect other M-Pesa services such as sending money, withdrawing cash, or using Lipa na M-Pesa.
