Huawei has officially rolled out the MatePad Pro 13.2 (2025) to global markets, expanding the reach of its premium tablet lineup with hardware and software adjustments designed for international users. Following its debut in China, the global edition arrives with a refined feature set, a PaperMatte OLED display, and a modified Kirin chipset to comply with regional regulations.

The global launch underscores Huawei’s continued focus on productivity-driven tablets that blur the line between traditional PCs and mobile devices, especially as hybrid work, digital creativity, and remote learning continue to grow worldwide.

Design Philosophy and Build Quality

The MatePad Pro 13.2 (2025) adopts a slim, minimalist design anchored by Huawei’s distinctive Space Ring camera module on the rear. The tablet measures 196.1 × 289.1 × 5.5mm and weighs approximately 580 grams, making it one of the thinnest and lightest large-screen tablets in its class.

Its metallic finish, highlighted by a refined golden tone, enhances grip comfort while maintaining a premium aesthetic. Despite the large display size, the tablet remains well-balanced, supporting extended use for reading, drawing, or typing.

Flexible OLED PaperMatte Display Experience

A defining feature of the MatePad Pro 13.2 (2025) is its 13.2-inch flexible OLED PaperMatte display. Designed to reduce glare and reflections, the PaperMatte surface delivers a paper-like viewing experience that is particularly useful for writing, sketching, and prolonged reading sessions.

The screen offers a resolution of 2880 × 1920 pixels with a pixel density of 262 PPI and an impressive 94 percent screen-to-body ratio. It supports up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness, a 144Hz refresh rate, P3 wide color gamut, and 1.07 billion colors, ensuring sharp visuals and smooth motion for both creative and professional tasks.

Kirin T92 Chipset Explained

At the heart of the global MatePad Pro 13.2 (2025) is the Kirin T92 processor. Huawei lists the chip as an octa-core unit, though detailed core architecture information has not been publicly disclosed.

Huawei notes that the Kirin T92 used in the global model differs slightly from the domestic version due to regulatory requirements in different countries. While optimized for efficiency and stability, the chipset still targets high-performance multitasking, creative workloads, and smooth system navigation.

HarmonyOS 4.3 for Global Users

Unlike the Chinese variant that ships with HarmonyOS NEXT, the global MatePad Pro 13.2 (2025) runs on HarmonyOS 4.3 out of the box. This version brings broader app compatibility for international users while retaining Huawei’s ecosystem-centric design.

HarmonyOS 4.3 emphasizes seamless multi-window functionality, cross-device collaboration, and improved system-level optimization. The experience is tailored to support productivity and creativity, positioning the tablet as a viable laptop alternative.

PC-Level Productivity and Creative Tools

Huawei continues to differentiate its tablets through software. The MatePad Pro 13.2 (2025) includes a PC-level WPS Office suite, offering a desktop-style interface with advanced document editing, spreadsheet handling, and presentation tools.

Huawei Notes introduces smarter note-taking features such as one-touch split screen, Note Replay, and enhanced handwriting recognition. Meanwhile, the upgraded GoPaint app adds true-color brushes, new canvas options, and professional-grade painting tools, making the tablet appealing to artists and designers.

Stylus and keyboard integration further enhances workflow efficiency, allowing seamless transitions between typing, writing, and drawing.

Thermal Management and Performance Stability

To support sustained performance, Huawei has implemented a 3D heat dissipation system. This advanced thermal design helps manage heat during intensive tasks such as multitasking, graphic design, or extended video editing sessions, ensuring consistent performance without thermal throttling.

Camera System and Multimedia Capabilities

The MatePad Pro 13.2 (2025) is equipped with a 50MP main rear camera alongside an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and LED flash. This setup supports high-resolution document scanning, photography, and video capture.

On the front, a 16MP fixed-focus camera handles video conferencing and online meetings, making the tablet suitable for professional communication and remote collaboration.

Battery Life and Fast Charging

Huawei packs a 5,050mAh battery into the slim chassis, which is rated as equivalent to 10,100mAh under Huawei’s internal measurement standards. The tablet supports 100W wired fast charging, enabling rapid top-ups and minimizing downtime for power users.

This combination of efficient hardware and fast charging makes the MatePad Pro 13.2 suitable for full-day productivity and creative work.

Price and Global Availability

The Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 (2025) is priced at RM 4,999 in Malaysia. Huawei has also introduced an early bird voucher worth RM 200 for pre-orders, with official sales expected to begin on April 14.

Availability in other regions may vary, with pricing adjusted according to local market conditions and regulations.

Market Positioning and Outlook

With its large PaperMatte OLED display, refined design, powerful productivity tools, and fast charging support, the MatePad Pro 13.2 (2025) is positioned as a premium productivity tablet for global users. It targets professionals, students, and creatives seeking a versatile device that bridges the gap between tablets and laptops.

Huawei’s decision to adapt hardware and software for international markets highlights its strategy to remain competitive globally, even amid regulatory challenges.

Conclusion

The global launch of the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 (2025) reinforces Huawei’s ambition in the premium tablet segment. By combining a high-refresh OLED PaperMatte display, Kirin T92 chipset, HarmonyOS 4.3, and PC-level productivity tools, the device offers a compelling alternative to traditional laptops and competing tablets in 2025 and beyond.
